The Tudors must be my favourite TV series at the moment. This pencil drawing is based on the character Anne of Cleves, played by Joss Stone. It was her crown that made me want to draw the portrait.

About the drawing

tools: graphite pencils 6H up to 9B, erasers, blenders
size: 210mm * 149mm
time spend: about 15 hours

How cute! She looks so innocent and pretty. I love the intensity of her eyes; she would be able to charm anyone who knows how to look with those eyes. I can't know how was the true Anne on Cleves but if she was anything like the portrayal in 'The Tudors' then Henry was one blind man.
Also love the details. Renaissance jewelry and clothing was gorgeous and I love that you payed so much attention to them.

very nicely done. love the details in the crown. you didn't say but did you do this on bristol paper?

keep up the great work it is always a pleasure to view art pieces that go well beyond the usual manga/cartoonish creations we often see in the pencil section.

The drawing was made on a Daler-Rowney graduate sketchbook. The paper is a bit rough but is strong enough for frequent erasing so that's why I like it.
